Ukraine is ready to reduce its quota of greenhouse gas emissions by 20%, to 736.6 million tons of carbon dioxide.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the state target economic programme on energy efficiency for 2010-2015. It is planned to reduce until 2016 greenhouse gas emissions of Ukrainian enterprises by 15-20%.

The government expects that implementation of the programme will reduce energy intensity by 20% compared to 2008. Funding for the programme will be implemented from the state and local budgets, as well as by attracting investments.
