Prime Minister Mykola Azarov hopes that Ukraine will renew its cooperation with the International Monetary Fund in May 2010.
"We expect the cooperation with the International Monetary Fund to be renewed in May," said Azarov.
He said the Cabinet of Ministers has agreed with the International Monetary Fund during the negotiations that the national budget deficit won't top 6% of GDP in 2010.

The prime minister said the memo with the IMF won't give tough provisions on how the national budget deficit will be secured. Azarov said Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund plan to finalize discussions of the cooperation memo.

According to the prime minister, a Ukrainian delegation will go to Washington in April to negotiate the memo during the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund. Azarov said he did not see contradictions in the positions of the Cabinet of Ministers and the International Monetary Fund.
