Ukraine's gross domestic product will exceed the 1990 level in five years and double in ten years, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said while opening the meeting of the government's economic reforms committee.
The committee launched examination of the government's draft program for 2010 - 2020. "This is our first program opening a new political way and giving a start to structural reforms," the Prime Minister said. He also noted that the program will clearly outline stages of the government's transformation activity, and the key tentative indicators to be reached by the end of each stage.

In Azarov's words, by the end of the first stage, in 2.5 years, Ukraine's GDP must reach and exceed the pre-crisis level. "The next stage, which will end in 5 years, is a stage of intensive growth on the basis of the investment-innovation model and system reforms. By the end of this stage we must hit the GDP level of 1990, and double people's incomes," Azarov noted.
