Yanukovych will speak on strengthening democracy in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will be speaking about the first steps of the new government, as well as the political situation in the country at a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on April 27.
There is no mention of Ukraine's Holodomor of 1932-1933 in the president's speech, a source from the Regions Party told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday. At the same time, Yanukovych will be speaking about strengthening democracy and freedom of speech in Ukraine, as well as the planned reforms in social and economic area.

After the speech, the Ukrainian president is expected to answer questions. As reported, Yanukovych is to make an address in PACE in the afternoon on April 27.

On April 28, the PACE will hear the issue of commemorating the victims of the great famine in the former Soviet Union, in particular, in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine in 1932-1933, as well as a report on the consequences of the war between Russia and Georgia.
